Motor Vehicles with OBD-II

Best for light to medium-duty vehicles, like passenger vehicles, pickup trucks and vans. Includes limited vehicle diagnostics.

Assets with 12V Harness

Best for direct-to-battery install on light equipment, big rigs, and heavy equipment. No diagnostics.

OBD-II Installation (Quick Installation)

Finding the OBD-II Port
The OBD-II port will be below and slightly left of the steering column.
Plugging in and Installing
  1. Crank ignition to start engine.
  2. Plug the cable into the OBD port.
  3. Connect Eagle 1 to other end of cable.
  4. Lights on the device should light up.
  5. Secure excess cable, and hide the device under the dashboard.
  6. Zip tie device out of the way, to rigid metal or cables.

🏁 All Done!

Your device will read your VIN number and if an asset isn’t created automatically yet, one will be created automatically.

OBD-II Installation (Covert Installation)

Finding the OBD-II Port
The OBD-II port will be below and slightly left of the steering column.
OBD-II Mounting Brackets
Remove the OBD-II receptacle using the appropriate tool (wrench, socket or hex wrench).
The OBD receptacle should now hang loose from its bracket.
Open the front panel/Drivers Side
Carefully pull back on panel under steering column to disengage the pins on panel from vehicle.
Eagle 1 Connection Cord

Carefully, slide the Eagle 1 Device connection cable into the space between front panel and vehicle.

Close Front Panel
Close the Front Panels by bending back the panel to reach the latch and push in.
Ensure that the Eagle 1 Device does not interfere with the steering column or any other mechanisms.
